Well, if you don't mind a little fly in the ointment, I think an imaginary friend would be the last thing you need! Something tells me they could potentially be even more of a distraction, and then you'd never get anything done . . . !

I decided to start concentrating on the inside of the house instead of outdoors....so far no need to cut the grass again....poison ivy came back on my arms....so far resisting the urge to scratch but not sure when I am sleeping

I find myself there from time to time...

I'd look around for the broom... If I can see it, then I would sweep that porch, thinking how satisfying it will be when it's all neatened up.  And it is a small job, not one that would really break into my quiet day.

One little accomplishment at a time...

Once, I ironed the new cloth napkins and set them in a nice little basket, set that on the table... and that drove me on to make the whole dining room nice and organized, to go with it.

Either that... or just enjoy the quiet, knowing those things will get done, sooner or later.

not being well and over loaded with chbores with guests on the way

I know that I would feel just as you do. Over whelmed.

Ennui. It does invade all of us from time to time, and drains our

ambition, our creativity, our best intentions.

An interesting poem I sometimes get a monkey on my shoulder but it does not help much

I have had those times as well. Fortunately, they do pass.

A nice poem you got there to by the way.
