LOL - I can imagine the expression of one finding a half-sucked peppermint in the tea. Now you have us all sitting here, puzzling as to what caused that stain....

Re:

Ciel in those days long ago we carried cups and a flask we poured a few drops of liquid on a finger and wiped the cup where we drank. On the rare occasion if  my Dad had to move a corpse, he swilled his hands with methylated spirit afterwards. Germs phah! they did not stand a chance.

Yes and this old lady came to a sad end , I met her granddaughter years later she was wearing a white suit and looked like a real princess. She was lovely though and filled me in on the old lady's history.

Re: Hello, fellow Blueblood, haha...

Ray I do find coffee a bit tiring, but being lazy use it for most drinks just the ordinary or decaffinated . The tea I have found to be quite nice is called RWANDA from Rhanda. I just cannot stand most teas these days Earl Grey eek!. No I don't shave in bed Ray or drink iced tea . Another one for the cat's basket I expect.

Re: CC

Well Justi the wine was worse it was in the outhouse in a red pan which had a crust of vinegar flies. It tasted alright but not after one had seen the brewing process.

Re: Dr JPT

Thank You DR I was trying to write the poem without embellishment. Obscurity hides many sins.

Oh cheer up JS. It is the blinking moon it does affect some folk. We are wary of frosts on clear nights . You might be suffering after effects of your fall those bruises have to be absorbed. I'll try and send you some happy vibes.

it just all seems so sad to me, perhaps because i am not well.  tea, sassfrass and earl grey.  stains make me sad, just like holey socks, and not so nice memories.  the moon is almost full and the tide is going out once more.

I find that I feel a lot different about some people, places and things than I did years ago...A whole lot to think about with the stain, I see.

I found the tea episodes to be a bit trying. Oh my I guess I would nevery have liked it again after the pepperming. LOL The poem, even in the eyes of blue blood, could have so many stories and you might tell a a few more of them. This as usual was a very good post.

Hello, fellow Blueblood, haha...

I haven't noticed that brand of tea here, but I buy only for iced tea. My Grandmother use to brew some really delicious hot tea and I drank it every day until my parent's allowed me to drink coffee - been a coffee connoisseur ever since as far as hot beverages. As far as the stain, have you nicked yourself whilst shaving recently, CCT? I had tiny drop stains on my bed covering and it took me a while to figure out it was from a little graze on on my ankle area; yes, I am vain in shorts season and apparently can get a bit careless with a razor...:)
The poem is marvelous!

A certain stain upon the sheet proclaims legitimacy and virtue saved

for just the right moment, and as such is not a stain at all, but a declaration.  How sweet to win out over one's less exemplary proclivities...

I am a common thing who likes almost any tea, but McDonald's is brewed the best and not too dark, so I do not like it too overdone or underdone if I can choose.  Cucumber sandwiches sounds delish.   Just let the bats out if they have slipped into your house!

It is a grumble Gnome, and you must have swallowed it when you drank a

cup of Yorkshire tea. Stewed tea Ugh!!! but then these people one must remember were decendants of people in service who were used to having to re use the tea leaves after the Nobs had finished their tea and cucumber sandwiches.
