Live and learn as they say.  I pray things get better for you and the rash goes down. I have done the wrong things for my conditions so many times trying to get rid of them.

Re: I am sitting here, looking out over my perfectly-manicured pebbles...

yes so true....what i really would love to do is put a big patio in the backyard and a gazebo off to the side and plant a garden...first have to get rid of the poison ivy for good...and can't do that unless the industrial complex decides to finally get rid of the poison ivy on their property....we even have soil erosion on our property because they didn't properly build retaining area

Re:

tecnu is only for when you first get it to prevent the breakout but once its full blown doesn't help....i never heard of extreme though and i went through all the products offered...i really like ivy dry but couldn't find a new bottle of it....wish there was a way to get them to pull their entry off the web....shouldn't be posting info that is that inaccurate for people who don't know!

Annicita

I do feel for you, and since I'm not the prayin' type, I'll send you at least my best vibes and wishes, LOL. And I do hope that prednisone works quickly - it's stuff that has some nasty side effects if taken for any length of time...

Oh my goodness, you have been through a lot there...Here's to hoping things improve.

Wow, I just got caught up here, and that all sounds terrible! My wife contracted poison ivy some time ago, and found a special soap specifically designed for poison ivy that helped her immensely. She also came across a wonderful cream called Extreme made by a company called tecnu, and I believe it's available in most stores. I hope whatever you try works for you. It's a shame you got such terrible advice from an on-line sight. Can't trust anybody these days . . .

I am sitting here, looking out over my perfectly-manicured pebbles...

Lawns are on the way out, in this droughty part of the country, lots of home owners are going to yards of pebbles--some more decorative than others.

So sorry you got messed up by bad advice.  Problem with internet and advice is that anyone can say anything.

Let it grow, let it grow, let it grow. Glad you have nearly finished it makes me feel itchy.
