I was aghast at first when I saw that you disposed of it and then I read your comment and it all made sense! I think you did the right thing! sam

You're right - it was a quick decision, and maybe I could've waited.

But I've had my doubts all along about whether it was right to tell this story. What confirmed these misgivings was the instantaneous response and identification of the title character by the people at the party. Ordinarily I bore people to death with my writing projects, but I hadn't shared this one with my sons, who were buddies of "JJ." He hadn't been able to talk about his father's death for years afterward. I'd been worrying about how they would feel to have their private grief made public and sensationalized in the event it got published. So I'm satisfied with my decision.

Thanks for all your comments. I'll make more stories. Time to start planning for NaNoWriMo, coming up in Nov.

What a terrible coincidence, and too bad your story has gone down the drain after all your work.

Pat

What??? You did what??? It was damn well written, and it was a novel, for crying out loud! "Any resemblance to real persons, living or dead, is purely coincidental." That still works, as far as I know...

Oh my! But I wonder if deleting so quickly wasn't a little rash....
