facebook is not for this retired? person.  retirement is time to do what you really like doing.  if it is writing blogit is an excellent place to do it because you can do it at night and still have a life during the day.  go for it!!!  just have fun, remember so many people never have the chance so make the most of it. doing what you love will give you something to write about.

Facebook is more of a social media....you can have a business page and even be a fan!  Yes it costs to write here...and I even occasionally  make enough to pay the monthly dues...but I won't give it up...cuz I can write about what I want when I want 24/7 and if my followers don't want to read that particular entry it's ok....what matters is that I write as much as I can....

It's a qustion I have asked myself lately, but haven't answered yet. Maybe not being on Facebook hasn't made it quite as urgent for me to find an answer, and I'm certainly gonna stay away from that place...

If you can find the answer to that one, let the rest of us know!  Hey, time is what you make of it! Personally, I think if you really have things to say and rant about, you may be better off here at Blogit than on Facebook! Like you said, who really reads over there anyway . . . ?

I would be sad to have you gone from here. I've been retired since 2002 don't hear much from all the kids I helped to raise, but I love being retired. Blogit keeps me alive with that joy we need from life to survive. I take the odd bit of time off now and then but Blogit is contributing to the lives of others I have come to care for, and it makes me feel worthwhile.

Slowing down can feel like depression

like driving slower than the gear you're in can cause lugging, and even stalling. Sounds like retirement isn't what you expected, and maybe you're focussing on that, instead of what it is.

I hope you will keep on writing here--I like reading what you have to say. And I don't do Facebook.
