i agree taps

it needs to be a national law, no driving anywhere when on the phone, even if they have head sets, and no texting.

Get it pretty hot here if you get caught. Also I expect the Insurance would quibble in an accident. I always ask if I ring a mobile if the person is driving and if so close down and say I'll ring later.

Unfortunately, you're right . . . regardless of how many of these laws they pass and try to enforce, people just keep on doing it anyway! Most people today must stop dead in their tracks if someone places a stick of gum in their mouths! And to think, we used to only have to worry about "drunk drivers" . . .

It does amaze me all of the people who talk on their cellphones while driving.

Way to go, Taps!!! I do the same thing when I know folks are

talking while driving. Son Joe calls me from his truck - he has blue tooth and hands-free technology, just tells the computer to call mom. The one time I was in that truck he did that to call his brother. But you can see cars drift or swerve and see people texting while holding the wheel with their knees - makes my phobia about driving go into freak mode.

I am with you, it is so dangerous to be driving and talking on the phone! It's a distraction and in my opinion no one on the phone can be a defensive driver let alone pay attention to what they are doing! And when one factors in the conditions it's nothing but a recipe for disaster for me! You did the right thing by getting off the phone! sam

TAPS

Not only should she not be on her phone while driving, her hand should never be tightly clamped on the wheel, neither should anybody's - it's a very bad and totally pointless habit people have who don't know how to drive...
