I always try to be nice to the people who check me out, but there are some who push their luck! Unfortunately, I also would probably have told her off!

TAPS

I don't know why I missed this, but I'm here now, LOL. Anyway, I might check out this NutriBullet thing, being a bit of sucker for gadgets, especially if they work and do what they're supposed to do...

Re: lovelyladymonk

Thanks for your comment.  I'm having fun with my gadget.  Today I made some Mediterranean Green Sauce.

Hi Taps,

This reminds me of a similar situation I had with a sales rep from RADIO SHACK.  Margaret and I were walking past one day and we got onto the subject of mobile phones and how I didn't really want to buy one, but would need one very sooon.

I swear, this guy was like a vulture swooping down on its already dead prey!  The moment those words were out of my mouth, he darted out through the open doorway and started trying to pitch the latest, flashiest phone on the market.

I told him thank you, but no thank you.  I didn't want, nor did I need such a phone.  Phones on which you can take pictures, play games and watch videos won't work for me because of my eyesight.

But this guy wasn't taking no for an answer!  He insisted that I absolutely MUST have the very latest in technology!  He actually said, "You need to get with the times, lady.  It's all about entertainment!  Look at what this thing can do!"  He then started pushing a bunch of buttons and blabbering on about what a fantastic phone he had.  Then he mentioned the price.

"Look," I told him sharply. "First of all, I don't make enough money to be able to afford your phone.  Secondly, I have just told you for the millionth time I'm NOT interested."

"But we can make payment arrangements and we do have discounts..." he stammered.

"NO!"

We walked away, while he blabbered on, apparently insulted that we refused to do any business with him.

I think you should have told that clerk off.  Had I been there, I would have done so for you!

I say good for you, buying this gadget for yourself!  I hope it exceeds your highest expectations.

I'm glad that I have not had too many people giving me unsolicited advice when I shop.

You probably looked fit enough as it was Taps. She didn't want to ice the doughnut. Perhaps she felt she could do with the same treatment?

It drives me nuts when people are presuming! I hope I would do as you did and not make a scene even though I would have wanted to tell her to mind her own business, too! And thanks for mentioning my blog! sam

yes Wiley's strength too seems to be not as good as i could wish for.

I don't see us building much this Summer unless someone else does the work. Every year he seems to lose a little bit more of what he could once do and I could throw stones at something about it. I love both of you and I don't want you to feel older.

I can really relate to your loss of energy TAPS, it is terrible for me now. Doc tells me it's heart with stents to keep the blood flow going and age. Just slow down and enjoy it he says. Well, I don't enjoy it but I am slowed down a heap.

I haven't seen Sam's new blog...will have to go looking for that. I find that organic foods has helped my energy level, TAPS. Plus Vitamins D and B, also from the organic store instead of the synthetic ones made by pharmaceuticals.

Yeah, she probably thought she was being helpful, but you're right . . . she should have never assumed anything!

Re: Pat_B

You are absolutely right and I am seldom quick on good comebacks.  That would have been so fun.  LOL

Ah, Taps... You missed a chance to tell that clerk

that you were buying it to put a little more zing in your boyfriend who can no longer keep up with your physical needs. It would be so much fun to "Betty White" her just a little.
