yes it flops verywhere so I will get some sticks and branches, they are free...and give the poor thing something to grow up over and around....when the snow melts.

Re: Pat

Pat I suppose children did not have a lot of say in the matter in those days. Everything seems to have turned full circle. Anyway I think it might get better in the short term.

Re:Kabu

Well I suppose all flowers were wild once. A little tender loving care might do wonders, it depends how tall it grows if it tends to flop over I would certainly put a small spriggy branch or 2 to support it, always be careful of canes one can bend down and poke it in one's eye I always put a plastic cap on top of mine

Re: Adnohr

I think the lard was pretty rough in those days Adnohr a bit like salty soap of course the gentry had cream and butter. One thing in the future we shall all probably be treated alike, except for a few of course

CCT

I really love your, or rather Bess' reminiscences...And I very much share your 'little concern'...

Yes - I do believe I had bread and lard too, but my foster granny put brown sugar on top of that, so it was quite tasty! Great informative poems, this Bess series. As for the second one, not so sure I care for your vision of the future.

we used to have bread and lard when I was a kid...a little salt and it was

very yummy as I remember.

i love your Bess stories. And I think I have a pink growing out back...now covered in snow of course...about 3 feet actually. Anyway it grows wild...should I tame it with stakes??

well you know how the old biddies love to gossip especially if there is nothing else to do...siblings as we are growing up can be our worst nightmares....wonderfully told

It can be difficult to remember what's picked up when...I would have falleen as well...I wonder when those headaches will become archaic.

Again I loved the 1914 memories... tucked in safely now

but felt precarious then, I'm sure. Loved the old lady who didn't mince words, cruel though they were.... And you're right - things could (and probably will) get much worse.
