Some interesting recipe suggestions. I had never heard of roasted hedgehog (we don't have hedgehogs here, lol), but friends of mine sometimes used to shoot groundhogs on their farm and eat them...

These are really an old fashioned plum rarely seen nowadays the juice just runs down your chin. chin, chin , they are so strongly flavoured that we usually dilute them with apple when stewed. If you lived next door I would throw the bags of frozen ones over your fence.

My comfort food yesterday was refrigerator soup...

All leftover veggies from the fridge, a few fresh chopped carrots, celery, and cubed chicken, in broth and crockpot, with a bay leaf for flavor. House smells heavenly.

I guess when one is starving, one wouldn't be too fussy about what is eaten. I googled greengage - I like plums so probably wouldn't mind that purée on a soft roll...

When we were lucky enough to get pheasent, nothing went to waist. My mother cooked them in a nice cream sauce.
