I tend to feel that our souls have more than one mate but recognising them can always be a little tricky

Re: Adnohr

Probably Adnohr but expensive tastes sometimes mean expensive habits.

Did you know our BBC rejects ladies for news reading and such as they mature.

I think the mature ladies look so homely compared to the skinnies , but then I get free telivision so I can't protest.

Re: CCC

Oh Dear Wiley old pal, don't ever take notice of what I say. I forget what I have written

until I read comments and some was written once when I was depressed years ago perhaps you are ultra sensitive and picked up sad vibes. I was sad that something upset you, it was not my intention, I do actually try not to post anything I think might be upsetting, so I was wrong as Jay thought so as well.

Good to read more happiness tonight Bro, I worried all night about you because of that last poem but heck, I'm not that good at deciphering poems, keep well Bro.

But the fish and chips might demand less and give more...and be longer lasting. That would be the hidden advantage, would it, CC? Sounds to me like the gentleman is wary of rejection by the caviar, and is using the blind spot as an excuse, because it may be a mistake even going for what his eyes may consider second best.

A parcel of fish and chips might not be as romantic

as a white Candle flickering over caviar....but I like fish and chips wrapped in paper!!!

A very intriguing poem! As to 'soul-mateyness', I think it falls into the same category as 'happiness' - heightened moments that we value because they're intense! Hoping to capture them and retain them for display on our mantelpiece is a longing doomed to fail...

Re:pat

Yes Pat I agree even as one walks through a crowd a glance at someone sometimes is returned with a warm glow. Very often people are pleased to be treated graciously and some will respond in a friendly manner. Of course it takes longer through a medium such as this as there is no actual visible acceptance that one is genuine. Although by the number of folk who are conned, it does not appear to be relevant.

Oh yes, words cannot always accurately describe things. It's a great challenge for us writers.

It is very endearing, CCT, to read that someone still thinks in terms of

soulmates. At times I've shared a second of instant recognition with people who  laugh at an unexpected turn of phrase spoken by the server where we sat side by side but not together in a diner. And on the train certain deep conversations shared with someone we never see again bring about the expectation that soulmates exist. Do we ever latch on, or is it just one dance in a crowded ballroom?
