I am glad you met good friends anyway.  They sound like mean unneccesary rules to me and pointless.  But it could have made for good discipline as you said, so good came from it.

A very interesting read here. I wonder how I would have felt hearing something like that when I was a kid.

Those mistresses would have kicked me out for certain Grandmummy.  No, boarding school would not have been a proper place for me.  Though I did want to study abroad through a school programme, Dad wouldn't allow it.  I'm glad you've kept in touch with so many of your boarding school friends.  Love you.

I think your grandchildren are so cute and in many ways I see that boarding schools though a child's nightmare instills much discipline and the experience is one of a kind.

Funny how everyone can picture you being a little rascal....... I enjoy these stories too - don't stop now. So cute that the grandchildren got upset.

Yes I thought you might be a little rebel Kabul. I expect your daddy had hopes of turning you into a real lady, I think he may of read a story book or two. Well you are real lady now it just took a bit longer. I expect you still keep your parasol and French knickers hidden away.

For some strange reason, I can picture you getting into trouble now and then when you were young.  LOL.

Oh my there was a bit of me in you. You wanted those things your way and they were determined not to have it such a way. Lol I can see you running up and down the stairway trying to get up a food fest. I would have joined you and passed you the best of the dishes. Cute story.

Sounds a little like the marine corps eating manors in boot camp...By the numbers. But it is so funny what the little ones feel about their grandparents. There is a completely new kind of love with those kids. Your story touched my heart.

I remember my little Sarah eating her peas. Some she would eat and some she would push to the side of the plate, the ones with wrinkles. I asked why she was pushing the wrinkled peas to the side and she told me she didn't want to eat the dead ones.

Such a sweet story even though you were restricted but I'm sure your heart was touched by the love and tears of your grandchildren!

Aahhh, Kabu. You may not be telling those grandkids your stories,

but you have at least one Blogit "kiddie" who'd love to hear them. Please, please, please, I promise to eat my peas.

Taking a stroll down memory lane is always fun. As for the eating situation, it's like anything else. Be deprived for a while, and you'll eat almost anything afterward! Hey, sometimes you can lead a horse to water . . .
