Interesting and delish sounding.  Never thought of how other countries might celebrate Thanksgiving!  Those lamingtons sound like a must have.

I am with JimmyA it is the thankfulness that matters you may eat hamburgers if you choose. I loved this post.

Thanksgiving is supposed to be about giving thanks for the people and things in your life that are positive and uplifting. It really shouldn't, and doesn't, matter what you have for dinner that particular evening!

wow, with advertising like that I think we're all coming to Camelot for thanks giving next year - even those of us who live in places where it's not celebrated

I feel I must write in defence of the blanket industry I have merino blankets. Woolen blankets can last 50 years. The trouble was Kabu the advent of central heating and cheap duvets. The blanket factories could not sell enough to survive and have closed down well the big famous ones have. I still have several and even one never used in its wrapper. One so thick it is like lint. A worker used to bring me ones slightly flawed she picked the most expensive and would say these go to the Indians.Or this is such and such wool very expensive. She could not resist them as the workers had first choice. Nasty noisy factories. I hope you read this clatter bang bang ,clatter bang bang.

I think the tradition of being thankful is celebration enough. I know many down here who do not have turkey and are just as thankful for their blessings as those who do. I want to thank you for your comment today Kabu. You were the only one, so far, who understood what the poem was really about. I worried about that when I posted it, but I was moved by the spirit to do so. I hope I have not offended anyone by doing so.

Kabu

If the truth be known, I prefer leg o'lamb to turkey, even if that marks me as a heretic of the worst sort! The only thing I sometimes like about turkey is the stuffing, if it's good, which is not often the case, unfortunately...Having said all that, yep, I will eat my turkey with a measure of thankfulness...

Oh, Happy, Happy Thanksgiving to you and my darling Poppy wiley one Grandmummy.  I am so thankful to the Lord for giving me Grandparents again, for I miss my Nana and Grandpa who now live in Heaven.  I know they are thankful to you for being my grandparents now.

I have to agree with you and Poppy...I'm not keen on pumpkin pie at all.  As a matter of fact, the only part of the pumpkin I like are the seeds.  They're quite tasty when roasted!

Those lamingtons sound devine!  Please, would you send me the recipe one day?

Happy Thanksgiving from your American Grandbaby.  How I wish I could have you here for mine.  I love you both forever.
