The gnomes would not even approach the poppy fields.  They wrongly suspected they would fall under a trance and be held captive by the Wicked Witch.  They did not know these were only cousins to those flowers who bore the same colour and there were no wretches to hold them prisoner.

And you said you couldn't paint. That is beautiful! Enjoy your weather. Today it is 106 with 80% humidity. Awful!!!

I would say it looks like primitive art . You just think you cannot do this on paper, perhaps the rocks talk to you.  Paint my eyes Baby, I want to be beautiful.

One of these days maybe a Gnome face will just speak to you

from the rock, and there'll be the twinkly eyes, the mustache & beard, the rosy cheeks of one of Santa's little helpers. Or not.  I like these flowers on your rock too.

We had a record-breaking high of 108 degrees today, and also record low humidity -- just like the desert. Supposed to stay this hot for the next week. Ughhh!
