The war days truly were something...As a person with a degree in history, I love reading about these historical times.

I watch the history channel quite often and I always think of you when the show the sights of old England in the war days, knowing that I had family over there, and a friend out mending pots gives me a bit of pride.

Sadly Shobana no one is a lesser perfectionist. In fact to grade perfectionists I would award you 8 out of 10. My grade is 2 out of 10 and diminishing. I would like to watch you eat a toffee apple.

Why do reminiscing and wartime stories bring on the nostalgia CC - I suppose you being the perfectionist you noticed all the little imperfections around you.

Re: I know times were hard in those days, especially in England.

Well Pat we were always looking at ways to make a few shillings, we never had pocket money just a ha'pennies worth of sweets until they were rationed. I don't know what my Mother would have said if we had kicked up a fuss in a store as little kids do today. I was once reported by two old married woman. I pointed to the cinema attraction poster and said to another boy' look at her big tits,'  I was severely shamed when my Dad was told and he was half dead with pneumonia.

Re: Kabu

Lo Kabu, one adapts but I bet there would be plenty of groans today if the kettle leaked.

I have just read that Canadian women are treated better than anywhere else.

Chickens look so stupid when they cock their heads to one side and look up at you with one eye.  I used to always wonder what the other eye was looking at when they did that.
Those strawberries look so good.

Chiff.Chaff.

The good old days and you lucked out finding that enamel pan with the chickens. A nice read of the war years my friend.

I know times were hard in those days, especially in England.

I'm glad you found a solution to their problem. Kids grew up fast in those days, did not sit and diddle with video games and sending text messages. They had jobs, chores around the house if nothing else. Nice event to remember. And the strawberries look healthy and good, too. :)
