CCT

A sudden influx of relations can be scary at the best of times, although enough garlic might keep them away, LOL. And the poem really made me smile...

Oh I love that flower and the writing. How are the Aloe-Vera sheets doing? I am running in to see what the cautions are on all my medications right now.

I loved the poem You have such a way of taking a poem the whole gambit of youth to on up there and it is beautiful since it passed in a night. Love your work.

Re:TAPS

Thank you dear. I like the sound of this so I have printed it off for future reference. I'll just tell you something funny. Years ago Archie was with me we were emptying a cart load of ripe hen manure. I had to go into the hospitable for a sex change, '#That's a joke.;  Anyway I had this awful sore throat and I did not want to spread the germs. So I ocassionly ate a raw garlic section thinking it would be a quick cure. Archie started cussing and grumbling saying it was choking him. He did not seem to mind the awful gases that held us in thrall for 100 yards in all direction.

Re:

Yes you are not doing too badly Sam considering what you have been through once I was put on steroids and everyone said how well I looked. Funny I was looking for T shirts and pulled out two pairs of shorts, perhaps I should wear them my birthday to show off my wooden leg,

Re: FSI

If I may respond to FSI here, you sound like you need some hot garlic soup right now for that respiratory infection of yours.  All you have to do is cut up a few fresh cloves of garlic and bring them to a boil in water and add salt to taste, then let it steep for a while.  Add a bit of butter for flavor and a little parsley flakes for looks.  Sip it while it's hot.  If you don't care for pieces of garlic, strain them out when you ladel it up.  Three times a day and it's a miracle cure.

I wish the weather would warm up so I could smell the bbq's in my neighborhood! Nothing but rain of late, but I am not complaining because we get so little of it during the summer! I hope the aloe vera works for you, too! And I am in agreement if someone say you look younger than you are, indeed, do not believe them! But, my daughter tells me I am aging very well so I will take her word for it! LOL! sam

Re:

Well Taps here it was suppose to ward off those poor old ladies who probably had dementia and were called witches. Folk used to hang a bunch outside the cottage door.

I should not think many know what the plant looks like, I used to grow it but it is easier to buy a clove these days.

Re: Funny now, they're calling garlic a superfood.

Goodness Pat you remind me I have a pack of eggs in the cupboard, although I don't like the smell of boiled eggs, I will try to use them. I am trying to put a scented collection of carnations together the trouble is they are such old varieties that they have not the  vigour of the modern varieties, but I am hoping to improve the status quo. Some of them were around when your grampy was gold mining. If I can get a flower or two I will show the date of recognition.

They won't show it very often FS, perhaps wisely so. Any chance of a deepy or a weepy,

Some solid advice there...It's interesting to read the poetry of another, especially when we know that person.

Funny now, they're calling garlic a superfood.

Garlic and walnuts and spinach... now we're talking salad. Crumble a little feta and hard boiled egg, and you'll be able to leap tall buildings at a single bound.

I love the scent of cloves from flowers. So many lovely blooms have no scent these days.

Now that's a poem!
My Dad was a believer in the powers of garlic.  He grew his own.  He carried cloves of it in his breast pocket everywhere he went.  Mother made us garlic soup when we were sick.
