Re: Re:

I'm not much on syrups or jams or honey.  Don't keep it on hand.  I like hot-pepper sauce and seasoning salt.

I'm with Kabu, but find myself broom less at the moment. I just love sweets, it's something these darn meds do to me, but I have never seen olives with lemon, but I understand the mix.

Re:

Goodness you amaze me Taps you must live in a treacle free zone. Perhaps you have so many sweet things that it was not needed or do you call it Golden syrup.

I felt as though I was there in both of your poems! The imagery seem to swallow me whole as it were! I loved it! I know what you mean by having a craving for something sweet, especially when none is to be found, then when it's there, it's an ah well! Sorry about the heat but I will share some of it with you; we have been very cool and 20mph on the wind, nasty day!

And, I must tell you about Jes! We went to the credit union today and she qualified for a savings and checking accounts which we promptly opened! Now we can organized her other savings accounts over time. She will have 5 of them in all! She is a bit overwhelmed at how I am setting her up so we have slowed the process a bit! She is staying with the plan. Next month she can get a secured credit card and that will help her build her credit! So, all in all, with the mistakes she has made in the past she is rebounding rather well and I am so very proud of her! sam

We've been getting a spate of hot weather as well...I've seen many things in hindsight. It used to drive me bonkers.

I haven't had treacle tarts for years. and chocolate in the fridge.

I'll just get the broom and pop across the pond to say Hi and Congratulate on your fine poetry. I won't bring Mother. LOL.

A top hat and colored balloons would melt any woman's heart even thunder woman. Just think when the thunder sounds and bluster had gone the sweet soft rain would be comforting.

I loved everything about the first poem. There are so many good lines but one that sturck me as incredibly good. I could re-examine thoughts of unnecessary happiness? And of course next time don't bring your mother.

It is hot here and has been for a couple of months already. We never really had a proper winter. Hey I like the idea of having chocolates brought to me. I have to comment one at a time I can't keep up after reading all of them.

Strawberries and creme fraiche -- or clotted cream.

Boughten strawberries grown in the area, but not my own, thanks to Mr. Squirrel. Now that's a summertime treat.

Well, I assume you had clotted cream with that.

I never mind reading your poems a second time (or however many) as I usually see something in them that I didn't notice before.  So many times you cause me to focus on one thing--like today it is "treacle tarts".  I have always wondered what is treacle.  I think I shall go find out right now.
