Where are you sweetie. Can't help but think about you and your son with this Waldo Canyon fire trying to wipe out Manitou Springs, Pikes Peak, Garden of the Gods, Woodland Park and everything going up to Ute Pass. I hope you are in a safe place.

That's sad - I really thought you'd be able to stay, and I know I'll miss you, as we all do! Of course I'll be dropping in to look at your wonderful pictures, so you won't be entirely gone, and I'm hoping you'll be back soon...

Amazing, thank you for that...my research told me that it was because they were once miners....who had pointy hats for the dirt to roll off. I like your understanding.
And re my post, in Australia we celebrate the present Queen's Birthday the first weekend in June. I had not heard of Victoria day unti I came here. Waving that flag back atcha as you leave us for a bit. Sniff!
