I haven't tried to write my own fiction really and your descriptions here of it waking you up to get at an idea, or to constantly have the story and plot on the mind, fascinating. I don't think I could do that. I am trying to get creative with poetry, with everything kind of geared to addiction, mental health and spirituality

...and that's why there are writing coaches and developmental editors...

...so you can get fresh eyes on a piece, and they don't have to be yours.

yes and I am doing another edit on Tom Ugly. It just doesn't

come alive to me and I don't seem able to make it. Sigh!I can't feel the pain. I understand that sinking feeling when you read something and realize you would never buy this if someone else wrote it.

Pat

I remember it well...But I haven't done any writing in a long time.  (I really can't count my Blogit blurbs, LOL).

Well Pat I am reading a book the third in a series Arthur says it is brilliant and occasionally asks what is happening. I usually reply 'I don't know.I just cannot remember the characters, everyone says it is brilliant but it is filled with gore and mythical play. Perhaps my brain is not suited to such strange interplay. Probably best to stick to one's knitting. Yes we are not our best own critics, I think a period of absence is as good as anything and then think your worst enemy wrote it.
