Sorry about your daughter's misfortune, if one can call it that...But about the lyrics of that Willie Nelson tune - I wasn't even aware of them! I'm one of those people (there must be two or three others, LOL) who never pays attention to the lyrics, but only to the music...

Songs speak to each of us in a different way, I think - all depending on our personal experiences. What a bummer for your daughter. Poor thing - but I guess it's a case of regretting something concrete instead of regretting not having taken the chance in the first place.

I'm afraid I've really never thought about that song in that way.  And, I'm afraid that there have been times when I was kind of like that with people and regretted it later.
