Actually, Baby-Grrl is a cat--a Russian Blue. I'll be taking her to the vet in an hour or so. Will let ya know what's up with her when I find out.

Jem-
Okay, I did as you asked and read your blog, but first of all, if Baby-Grrl a dog or a cat? I'm assuming it's a dog, but regardless, here's the deal. Is there an odor coming from the ear? Where exactly is it swollen...the "flap" of the ear, or actually inside? If there IS an odor coming from the ear, it could be from a previous ear infection gone undetected and now turned into (or is turning into) an ear hematoma. (worst case scenerio) This means that the infection has made the ear swell up with blood and pus and will now need to be drained; possibly surgically. If it's bad, a drain tube will be placed through it to allow the draining to continue after surgery as it heals, plus antibiotics for aftercare.
If it's something minor (just an infection from that cut you saw) then you may get lucky and just have to give her antibiotics to clear up the infection.
