Nice closing...! ... and nothing would surprise me when it comes to public figures and public speaking...:)  - has the term 'Intelligent Design' fallen out of favour, I wonder? I don't seem to have heard that one lately.

Oh there are ignorant ones even in religion but fewer than are supposed. Who knows, maybe, God was a few years over the count of the first 2,000 years. That was the date you know. Einstein was a  Hebrew believer and he earned a pretty good seat in the hall of science fame.

I'm sure that there will be a big debate about this one.

Welcome to Idiocracy.

To teach the varieties of ideas in a class in political sociology--in my high school, we called it World Cultures--this has a legitimate place.  To lard it into a science classroom is absurd.  Calling it science does not make it science.  There is no science to Creationism.

The science of evolution does not preclude faith in a diety's hand in the process.  One addresses how, the other, why.

Nautilus

I don't have a problem with teaching that there are different theories because that's the truth......and as far as science goes, it seems that is rarely a definite - with arguments and changes in "proof" across the decades/centuries that always reminded me of those in fashion......of course, science was never that interesting to me so I'm sure I'm just rationalizing my poor study habits.......
