My mom had shingles - extremley painful! Hope your situation has improved! Happy to hear that your dad is at home and getting the care he needs there - but please look in on your mom frequently. No matter how strong caregivers want to be, help is always needed.

Hope your Daddy is comfortable Malcolm my Mother died at home and was gently assisted in the end far nicer I think. Shingles, chicken pox and something else all related, yes I have had them all and seen folk nearly blinded with the condition a lot of old folk lore about this. It is a nasty thing but once it has gone, well retreated, the body has the upperhand. Take it easy.

God Bless your Dad my friend. Shingles are the worst thing to have, very painful for quite a time and I hope you recover from that fully.

I am very sorry to learn of the health of your father! I admire your mother with her strength! It is tough when a parent comes to the end of their life, but making him comfortable in the last days is a great thing to do! sam

It's good your father is where he wants to be
I imagine your mother is coping the best she can. It always seem dull after an Indian summer.

I had shingles once after some bad office politics - it took me out for about three weeks, and was very nasty. It's strange though
because I don't remember that time very much - so much has happened since and is happening now.

My heart goes out to you during this difficult time. I know a guy who once had shingles. It was really rough on him from what I remember.

Here's wishing peace to you and your parents. I hope your mom finds
the caregivers a help and not a hindrance. How scary is it that our bodies betray us and fall victim to shingles and other symptoms because of stress. Feel better soon.

Be well Malcolm.  You all have my prayers, of course.

malcolm, I had a mild case of shingles and it was not pleasant at all...
I'm sure your Dad will "feel better" just being home in his own bed with family closeby....
