malcolm, I, too, am sorry to hear about your father's condition...
We'll also pray that if he does pass on, it will be a peaceful passing, and we'll be praying for you and the family as well...

I am so sorry to learn of the trouble with you father! I agree with you that if it is the end, let it be peaceful! The funding for college can be so trying at times! It seems to put undue pressure on the student! I hope it is resolved very soon! sam

It comes to us all Malcom the break up of a system that we are used to. I guess those years being young and fairly miserable the cigarette was comfort. Of course no one knew it was harmful to that extent. As an old lady told me recently everyone smoked in those days. I hope he is peaceful.

If it's your dad's time, I hope his passage is easy.
I think letting nature take its course is the right idea, it's what I'd want for myself, to leave a penny or two in my bank account and not throw it all away in last-ditch procedures. I know he must be a good man to have reared a loving family man like his son. Peace.
