i find if i smile at the person at the check out or behind the counter
they so often look shocked and then will start to smile themselves. i think their jobs are so difficult and people are so horrid to them, it costs nothing to be nice to them and lighten their load a little.

I agree with you, a smile can make a difference! I went to the mall with my daughter on Monday and every time we met a car coming from the parking aisles they seemed to want to pull out in front of her, so she smiled and waved them on! It is good to do that because some folks are in a hurry for no good reasons it seems! sam
