Re:
TAPS, you are absolutely right! They'll pad that bill with as much foolishness as possible.

Re: Nobody lets anyone have anything free anymore...The greed is sickening
Kabu, as wih most places, the more government spends, the more they dream up ways to compensate- all at citizen expense.

Re: reasons
Wiley, lucky you! The first thing I thought of when I received the notice, was the well at friends' home.

Re: Re:
My water charge for the last billing period was $17.38, and my customer charge was $18.10, then they add a safe drinking water fee, {this one blows my mind because that's their job for crying out loud}, and then a franchise fee! They boggle my mind as I am sure they will you when you get that first bill! Not only that I pay my bill to a place in Pennsylvania and they call it United Water of Idaho! Okay, boys and girls but I doubt the profits benefit my state! sam

Re: we have new "Enersave" meters here in Ontario...
Rumor, thank heavens it's optional! So many govt. dictums are not.

Re:
FSI, probably not much; we're a little behind the times in tiny town.

Re: Next thing you know they'll be watching you on the toilet

Re:
sam444, most unusual! I've never heard of charging for delivering water.

There will probably be about six extra fees and taxes on each bill.  It is amazing how much they can add on to just water.

we have new "Enersave" meters here in Ontario...
Its an optional thing (we didn't get it due to my breathing condition) that automatically adjusts the a/c or heat, depending on the season...a good thing in a way, but not for everyone....

I wonder how much this is going to change across the nation.

Next thing you know they'll be watching you on the toilet
to see how much water you flush

WOW! That will a change! I have level pay on my water so that I don't experience the huge bill for summer watering! It will be interesting to see how this materializes! One thing that does shock me is the fact that I am a very low consumer of water and they charge more to bring it to me than I use! sam
