Silt is a good metaphor, too.

Life like a stream can be silt-heavy, and need a flood now and then to clear it out.

You have a nice place to walk.  There is one like that near where I live, too.  It often floods in winter and spring and it is beautiful and serene in summer.

This is gorgeous!  Great imagery and I love the close.  I had never thought of Spring as violent so I love the different perspective
