This rang a very familiar chime with me. Over a year ago I was in a local
playhouse's production of M*A*S*H.  The director went to great lengths to keep from trying to copy the film or
tv version, and succeeded in making it both good and original.  Guess what the newspaper reviewer compared it to!  We didn't WANT to be like Donald Sutherland or Alan Alda, but that's what the insufferable twit expected.
We knew we were good, but that was a very stupid and disappointing review after all that work.  - Bob

I think critics are often sad, sad little people.  I, personally, love the book ... for whatever it's worth.

I definitely agree.  I think no one should write a review of a book they haven't read.  But the sad truth is that they do.  No fair!  No Fair!
