How Wasteful was the Older Generation
Yeah, life was really hard without plastic bags.I am surprised that civilization even lasted as long as it has without them.joab

And I remember it well! But when my third child was born and I could at last use disposable nappies instead of washing out the terry ones, I have to admit I was ecstatic!

and back then

we didn't have to wonder when we went to sleep at night if some idiot was going to bust in our doors, or try to steal our cars or some gang was going to shoot innocent bystanders because another gang drove by ,,

we also didn't have to pay 3.78 for a gallon of gas,

and last but not least, we DID NOT have to look at the plaid underwear, boxers that some kid is wearing because he wont wear his pants up around his waist with a belt like he is supposed to,,,, that is the most disgusting thing in the world to see some guy walking around with half  of his %*^% hanging out.

Hmmmm, I must be older than I thought  I'm 42 & most, if not all, of what you posted, is what I experienced growing up. I do enjoy technology. I also appreciate simple pleasures. It's all about having balance.

This was a great post, and I thank you for it. Our kids can't help their blindness, it is taught them in our schools.

that is a very good point!  I am always trying to move back to a more organic and eco friendly way of life and it mostly means doing things the way my Grandma did them
