Breaking the cycle
It sounds like this was something that was handed down from generation to generation. I don't believe that it is hereditary, but brought on by learned patterns and thinking and behavior. Although if there is a genetic component, it wouldn't mean for certain the person to automatically turn out to have the same behavior. I would think it would make them more suceptible to continuing the pattern. But is seems you are doing all that you can to make sure the cycle doesn't repeat. It is hard and I have great respect for your vigilence.

for all your comments. It's good to hear others thoughts on these things and it all gives me HOPE that all will be well with the REST OF THE FAMILY since we're ALL so VIGILANT to STOP IT!!! They are having a dinner in Wichita to honor the twins and to have a grand opening in their names for places for these victims to call, people to volunteer at these places & etc. Isn't that great!!! WHOO HOO!!
I'm SO SORRY for any of you whose lives have been touched by this total INSANITY and I pray for your peace of mind..................

Someone told the boys that it was legal in the State they lived in
someone encouraged them to be who they are....perhaps it isn't so much hereditary as handed down through the generations as normal for the males of a family..... I pray that knowledge and education can stop the monstrous practice.

You have a lot of mental courage and intestinal fortitude. You have made me think about my ex wife and how her father hurt her and runied life for her. I do have thoughts too about my oldest son who hasn't spoken to me in years because he knows how violent I was with his grandfather about this 'condition' and now I worry about what he has done in my daughter's lives.
