Haven't looked at the price of tomatoes lately, and my LSW doesn't remember what she paid yesterday, but I'll check them out tomorrow...

I don't know anything about the details of the Wisconsin situation, so I can't comment. I just know that in this Province $21.4 billion out of a total budget of $96.4 billion go to education, that's over 22 per cent of the total, but the quality has been declining badly. My point is that it isn't just a question of throwing money at it, but one of devising strategies that will help improve the outcome...

Food prices have been rising again everywhere...
Mass protest is almost always economically fueled, imo. When it comes to budget cuts, it's always the lowly realms of the totem pole and the poor that are targeted. Tax cuts for the wealthiest and corporatism, even when that's not proven to create living wage jobs and life support cuts for the rest. I wonder what the top feeders will do when the pole falls...
