Darlin' we have been praying for those in your country for months now. It is a sad scene. I especially pray that your children will experience some cooling soon. Love you,

Such a great poem.  Even then there were floods and dry spells - the awful things happening now have happened before and the Australians persevered!  A small comfort, but comfort nonetheless....Mal

Every moment expressed so vividly Kabu - Excellent poem. It is really too bad about the catastrophe's going on there now.

I liked that 1909 poem so much, it inspired me to write something about my
own country.

That's wonderful!
Today Richard sent me an internet site (http://www.laboiteverte.fr/portraits-de-criminels-australiens-dans-les-annees-1920/) that I just loved.  They are supposed to be mug shots of Australian criminals of the 1920's from the archives of the Sydney Police.   But it’s almost like these dark and moody mug shots came straight out of a Vogue fashion spread.  I loved looking at them.  They made me think of your writings and your attention to detail and your love of pretty clothes.

Such a wonderful country that is described in this poem you provided us with...The speaker's loyalty to her country is to be admired.

I've always loved Canadians and Aussies, and I'm sorry the
Australians are having such a rough go of it. Mother Nature has been on a PMS tear all year, and I hope she gets over it soon.

It has something about it and I always think about a day, and
a particular memory of this poem being recited in St Martins in the Field in Trafalgar Square. It was a memorial service for an Australian friend. Her best friend stood up and read it from the pulpit. How, I don't know. She told me later that she hoped all who knew it would stand and recite it as one. But we could not, for at the start of the second stanza, we were carried away by tears.

Absolutely splendid, vivid and touching poem!
Thank you for sharing with us, dear Kabu! You have every reason to be proud of and feel nostalgic about your beloved land down under. I know not why it is suffering so much at the moment, but rest assured that the Universal healing prayers & powers will once again bring peace & prosperity to the brave Australians and New Zealanders, best wishes, Ash

Kabu

A wonderful, heartfelt poem! Makes me want to go and visit, preferably during our Canadian winter...

And I certainly hope Mother Nature gives Australia a bit of a breather...

YUM, such a Love written there and it wraps round my heart.  Yes, that's Beauty from a Heart's haven there.  Beautiful and thank you dear Kabuski.  *I spoke with our Australian dear one, Claire last night, her parents are there right now for funeral and illness of family - they're in Sydney - but oh, the twinkle and glisten in Claire's eyes went straight through to my heart.  God Bless Australia and the Great Folk that are undergoing much there ~ xoxoxo Connie Elyse
