Oh, and I just discovered a great little button on my camera... On the circular button that chooses the shooting menu and everything, pressing the '3 oclock' side when ready to take a shot gives instant access to white balance, and in the case of this rose, allowed me to lower that by a notch or two, so these intense reds were not all blown out!
