No one around now that will have anything like the impact he and the others had. Amazing that 4 guys in a band they called 'The Beatles' influenced so much.

~ Straightforward --- I wonder how his 'song' lyrics and peace is passing on.  I find the newer generation listens more to a raging beat?  a powerful beat.  I did wear some of his style of glasses in one era of my life and the beads and the nehru jacket ~ ah yes and embroidered the 'peace' sign on a pair of jeans...that was in the 70's.  I think now if I did this fashion, my children would be looking for some type of green growth in my gardens.  Ah but for the peacefulness - I appreciate this blog, Straight ~ Elyse

I can remember the sadness and shock when he was killed, but at least he's never been forgotten.

Lennon and the other Beatles changed the world with their music!
It surprises me to compare the changes in America's attitudes, and changes in thinking, that were obviously inspired by the Beatles unprecedented, nearly divinely inspired music. I was a bit slow in assimilating all of the unprecedented leaps forward, and by the time I grew to love their new album, (new to ME, but not THEIR newest work) they had already moved on, leaving me to slowly catch up with all the rest of the world, on the Beatles rapidly evolving music. Such talent!
When looking back on their extremely vapid earliest songs, (I wanna hold your hand!) & (She loves you!) it must have been only the new SOUND of their music that was so electrifying at first, because it certainly wasn't the lyric content that changed the whole world.
When you who weren't around during the second half of the sixties, hear the vast range of their music, it must be hard to realize that ALL of the changes that they almost single-handedly brought about in today's world, occurred during the momentary twinkling of time, between '64 and '70! They broke up FAR too soon! We really could have used them and the messages of peace and love, for many more years, but I guess that they must have burned out, like flaming meteors.
