I watched mine change with age and experience, too! It is refreshing in its own odd way! sam

Ah yes....
...I know that feeling Malcolm....but as you said it's all for the best...our goal is to raise independent people who then build a life of their own..it's a good thing...but a strange feeling for the parents...bittersweet!

I think all change makes us reflect just a little, even changes for the better

How quickly Ivan has grown up that little bit more! He went as little more than a child, but has returned as an adult, meeting you on an equal footing, which is wonderful. So terrific that he's happy to come home.

ah those moments of loving reflection.  I'm so glad your visit with Ivan proved just that.  Elyse

I didn't clean my place from top to bottom, but I did re-arrange my bedroom.  Last night, instead of sleeping with my head to the south and my feet to the north, I woke with my head pointing east and my feet westward.  Now there is much more open space and room for a comfy chair that crowded the room before.  I am proud of myself for digging in and doing.

It is very hard when one realizes what you just have, but it is also true that watching them develope into adults is a hoot :-)  You will be OK my friend... everything changes ,  sometimes even for the better   xoxoxo

Letting go is always hard
But seeing the fine people our children become is a wonderful moment as well.

Major milestones (i.e. college, weddings) often lead to one feeling more reflective, I find. I myself always think about all the things that led up to that point.

I wish I had the energy you guys have malcom I hoover every Saturday and it is a little nightmare for me although I did wash the carpets in the few hot days we have forgotten.

By experimenting I have found that dust does not accumulate much after the first fortnight.

My  battle is with mud and squashed fruit when in season which demands constant shoe changing, Be lucky

malcolm, you're right..the kids grow up so fast and go through
various stages faster than we can turn the calendar....I don't blame you at all for reflecting on it and being a bit nostalgic as well....
