Its a good thing to follow your gut, but there are times when, the advice is so logical,and a tinge better than your plan, and you can say,----- that makes sense----follow it.

Independence
Lovely! And it reminds me of 2 quotes in my own life. The first was from my brother-in-law, a wise man: "I listen to more advice than I finally take."The second was something I overheard my mother telling my cousin when I was still a kid: "Any child who listens to parents when choosing a marriage partner isn't worth his (her?) salt." That really shocked me!
Good poem. It got me thinking.

Independance..We all make choices and hope they are the right ones but we all fall and need to get up again and try again..The skinned knees of our experiences are reminders of what we did. The scare is the rememberance. Nice poem Tryit and thanks to Mom & Dad. Blessings Fema
