Re: Rumor
Aww, thank you.  That was beautiful to read.  I'm touched.

NiteTide, love is so many things flowing together to make two lives one...

and you've captured so many.....

"where loneliness is sharpened
to sweeten the reunion,"

this caught my eye because earlier in the week I posted a poem about being alone and separated from Liz for two weeks of insurance schooling...I missed her like crazy, but our reunion was all the sweeter when it came........

It did go well, thank you.  Although it didn't help that I was chocked up and shaking while I was reading it.

Re: Re: cpklapper

and you did it very nicely too!  I'm sure the reading will go swimmingly.  You will read it from the heart and it will touch all of theirs.

Re: sam444
Thanks Shelly!  The wedding was beautiful and as soon as it all started, I was sniffling and trying to hold tears in.  I have never actually cried at a wedding, but it was my wonderful friend since 1st grade; how could I not get teary-eyed.

I wish all my poetry was still on Blogit, then I wouldn't have panicked when it all disappeared.  But unfortunately I'm starting with a clean slate.  I don't even have my nursery rhyme re-vamps anymore.  *sigh*

Tis a great gift you are giving them...anyone can read someone

I think it very fine! It is more precious because it comes from your heart and that always makes for fine imagery for me! I am sure they will be moved and delighted with this poem! I am so sorry about the virus! I had one and I lost everything, too! Luckily most of my poetry was on Blogit so it was easy enough to retrieve! Just a headache putting back into its books and the like! I hope you are having a great time tonight! It will be wonderful to hear how your poem was received! sam

Re: Katray2
Awww, thank you for that overflowing comment!  I'm speechless!

Nita, huh?  I like it!    LOL

How profound and exquisite - could be lyrics to an endless song!
Your friend is very lucky. I suppose it is a challenge to write about love and not personify or personalize it..:) But you have met the challenge and then bunches! I think I incorrectly called you Nita instead of NiteTide on answering your comment - apologies, lol..
Best wishes for a lovely time at the wedding.

Re: Since you want honesty I am going to tell you what I honestly think
Based on your subject, I started to hold my breath and expect the worst - LOL.  You're so sweet though.  Thank you so much for your compliment.  I greatly appreciate it and it makes me feel better about reciting it tonight.

Since you want honesty I am going to tell you what I honestly think

this poem is a really good picture of what love is.

if it were me getting married, i would be honored if my friend wrote something like that for me, especially since it is something you wrote and not just other people's words.

This is beautifully written, well-thought, etc....and you have LOVE "nailed" with words.

Re: Ciel
Awww, thank you Ciel!  I've forgotten how much I miss everyone's writing - and how powerful they can be!  I'm so happy to have returned to that feeling.

Re: Re: Re: This is a beautiful piece!

Wow, compliments up one side and down the other!  Thanks so much, and for coming over to my post and commenting there too...

NiteTide, honestly, I think your poem here is perfect!  Much more perfect for a wedding than mine.  Be content, be proud!  You have written about the wonderful and healing side of love and the magic of love that turns the world around!

Re: Re: This is a beautiful piece!
Oh MAN, had I been on Blogit it earlier and found this piece, I bet you I would be reading THAT poem instead of mine!  That was just LOVELY.  I WISH I had been back here earlier.  Darn it!  Randir, thank you again.  I'm absolutely appalled that I can't say Ciel's poem, but I am so glad you led me to it.

Re: This is a beautiful piece!
Randir, thank you so much for your comment!  I would very much love to have that link!  I've found a few here and there, but in general, it's been a hardship to find, so thank you.

Also, I tried going into your blog and realized is for "mature audiences" only.  I'm not sure I can consider myself "mature" because I'm such a kid at heart!    We'll see if I have the moxi to go in there someday.

This is a beautiful piece!

Your friend is very lucky that you are both a friend and a poet.

This is the second poem on love I have read the past couple of days.  I will try to find a link to the other one.

Re: on Love
Thanks so much for your thoughts!  I write very simple poetry - I just don't think like some of the amazing writers on here that take you up to 10 different playing fields as you're reading - but I try to convey certain feelings - and that's what I most hope to accomplish.

Re: cpklapper
Thank you, Carl!  I always thought that love was just the tiny ingredient needed to make that small shift in perception.  I'm glad I could put it into words.

on Love
Your friend is lucky, but you'd better read it slowly and clearly - the lines are loaded!  Paradox takes time, I find.
As for fairy tales, you're right. Don't know where THAT came from!  But the poem was very wise and eloquent.

I'd love to hear you read it aloud at the wedding.
Very nice and very special.

Lovely reminder of what a marriage is

a shift in perception made by love.
