My aunt and uncle have walked together for years. They swear it fixed their difficult marriage and healed it. Walking is the cure-all for so many things.

Wow,  I completely agree! I used to run a lot, long distances, marathons, but can't do that any longer because of a wonky knee. But I can walk, and do walk a lot, especially with my doggie, who's currently laid up as you know...And I too have experienced the positive effect running and walking has on the mind...

Fast walking has always been my favorite way of exercising both my body and my mind.  Also, if no one is in hearing distance, I love to sing while I walk.  I don't have the most pleasant singing voice, so I go silent when I am near people.  LOL

Fantastic FSI....You've inspired me. I was walking quite a bit in Spring than the HOT weather hit. But that's no excuse. Walks are a wonderful release...

I quite agree. I love walking too, As you say, it clears the mind and brings great calm, as well as being good exercise.

Wonderful FSI and I love it too for all the reasons you mentioned my friend. Thank you for the visit.

One of my favorites too, FSI. City or country (prefer the latter), it seems the legs moving draw all the 'muddle' away from the head.

FSI, I really need to get started again.  Walking changes my world so dramatically!

But the clearing of one's mind, I suspect happens because in the bargain of
the walk, you get time to yourself

FSI, I enjoy a good walk, too...

I try to get out twice a day for half an hour each time, maybe stretch it to 45 minutes....it really is good exercise...

My wife usually joins me for the evening walk - sometimes we chat, sometimes we just walk along and enjoy the quiet.....

I think the walking is important, but the area you walk seems to be very beneficial. Good for you!

we share this joy....walking...I have walked endless miles on the beaches
in Australia and here on the edges of the woods. I agree it is a time to think and to clear the mind and eleviate the depression. Good for you ...a blog about some of those snippets of conversation that you hear might be fun.

Walking
Very good FS. I'm sure it keeps you in the pink. One day I must get a gadget that monitors one's steps. I don't walk as such, but I potter up and down for a least 4hours a day tending my garden, this involves quite a bit of walking I think especially when one is cutting grass etc. It's not much fun walking beside roads with cars passing continuously, that is a lame excuse because one could go a few miles and walk country lanes, but that is more hazardous as there are no paths. Keep it up

I think a perfect setting makes a great deal of difference for a walk! So good that you reap so many benefits from walking, too! KUDOS to you! sam
