This post shows how important it is that we like the work we are doing.
Depression is very hard to beat, especially when it is extensive and every day type.
Being rejected is never easy...waiting to hear what happened there.

I wish I were in your shoes, showing and finding something to do that would
be satisfying at such young age and being able to go for it. You are very lucky

You seem so focused
and positive regarding your life choices and decisions that I find it surprising you've suffered from depression. Your decision making process is excellent and I'm so glad you found your calling with your dad!

Very interesting stuff here.  It would seem that your decision making skills have worked well for you.  Good going.

FSI
I have suffered from depression a lot of my life and take meds for that. So, I can congratulate you for all you have accomplished and will continue to accomplish in your life.

I know from all your car wash posts that you made the right
decision in your life working for your Dad. Now look at you....Happy in your own home and almost finished University and working full time. I am proud of you and could wish all younger people were half as nice as what you seem to be.

FS. No one likes to feel rejected, but it just happens sometimes, one builds an image of someone, I think it is the more sensitive person who does this. This image is what one one would like the person to be, but sadly sometimes this is not the case and it is a job to reconcile one's thoughts to accept this. No one is perfect as you know and one must make allowances for this. Put someone on a pedestal and they will disappoint. But sadly some of us have to put someone on a pedestal before we can contemplate an attachment

It's so brilliant that you found a job you loved, and it was on the doorstep with your dad. Depression is such a horrible illness. So glad it's now behind you.
