AND THANKS
..to both of you for reading it and responding in a civil manner.  Hopefully we are all giving each other some food for thought.

NO KATRAY
What I am trying to say in the last sentence is it doesn't really matter if they are seperate or equal if we don't view either in the right way(not our way) , because both ways will lead to failure.  I still believe that there is a better chance that they will fail if the two are entertwined, because then you only have one school of thought and that's never a good thing.  And I believe that both can be successful separately if we would just look at ourselves in the mirror first. This will never happen, because ours is not a perfect world.

I was agreeing with everything you said until the very last sentence..
If I understand what it meant, you are saying that religion and government must be intertwined in some better fashion to give credence or effectiveness to both? That they cannot stand on their own separate platforms? If so, I disagree. If this was not the meaning, I apologize.
Though I believe in God, I know non-believers who are as moral and concerned about humanity as any church going, bible reading soul. A faith based outlook is not a necessary ingredient in the art of good governance. And religion doesn't need political energy to thrive and fill it's adherents with the desire to follow their God and to do good works.
I am both myself; politically interested and engaged and a believer in a higher power. But I keep them away from each other, so to speak, because it would be and is corruptive to freedom and faith to co-mingle the two.
Well written and thought inducing post; hope you don't mind me chiming in with my two cents..:)

Good post, I think

I'm a little out of it right now.  It's been a long weekend working on the 48 Film Project. But it all looks good last I saw it and will turned in shortly and then screened next weekend.

I've skimmed over your last comment and do plan to reply it once my mind catches up with me some time this next week.  I am enjoying our exchange on the topic and hope we can keep it going in the respectful manner we've been at.

I'll try to reread this at some future point and leave a better comment then.
