That's another reason I'm not on Facebook - I don't want to be in the position of saying something mean about people, and if I were on Facebook, I probably would...

I'm glad Amanda apologized
but if I had been called a squirrelface I would have just shrugged it off.  Maybe not when I was 16 though. And it may be a bigger insult to a girl than it would be for a boy

J{ I guess that a person’s gesture can determine an animal nickname. However to describe a person as an animal on Facebook’s cold. In fiction the characters are works of the mind. BC-A, Bill’s RJLst

This is a wonderful post FSI and you are so right in what you say. Thanks so much for the visit my wise friend.

I don't think Amanda was trying to be hurtful, just observing! But, I do like the points you have made and she just needs to let this experience make her a better person! And, she needs to be careful who she trusts so that innocent comments don't come back to haunt! I admire her for owing up and trying to correct the situation! I have to believe she is sincere, too! sam

sometimes what we say can definitely be taken wrong, and you have to be careful what you write on Facebook, the wrong eyes might see it

FSI,  This is so common and pervasive.  Can we remember  what our kindergarten teacher said:  you cannot build yourself up by tearing someone else down?

a good fair and responsible post...but another reason why I don't go to
face book...once it is written it is out there forever and it is easy to make a mistake.
