Re: janey
Am I delighted to see you ... long time isn't it? How have you been? Glad that you find the read enlightening. The saying in the Luke is more or less, quite alike. That proves universality and that in the deeper, or call it higher, world, discrepancies and differences disappear. Thanks much, janey.

Nice to read you again.  Your post was very enlightening.  Made me think of the kids game, "telephone."  Messages often become convoluted as they are passed along the so called chain.  Your post also made me think of Luke 12:16-21 (NKJ).

Actually it is not fully Bhaktivedabta's fault. Their learnings are more from disciplic succession than from discrimination.  His followers are even worse; parroting is all they know. And the Gita needs a lot of contemplation otherwise the conclusions can get convoluted. I admire your capacity to absorb the essence, you being a prolific reader and writer. Excellent observations you make. But do pray to be relieved of your migraines, and eat well, rest well. Thank you so much for your continued interest in the subject. Approaches being different, the goal is the same. True.

Hi abeneriee that was a truly great explanation and one feels that such idealist suggestions were made in a time when there was a strong sense of community feeling.

I loved that I read one just asking God for what they have not received! It makes so much sense! I have thouight to outright ask for anything because I have allowed Him to take care of me in the way He sees best! Awesome explanation! It is amazing how we can get tangled up in metaphors! And it amazes me that ones who have construed things seem to be popular! I like this too: It is a mystic law of life, of Karma offered as sacrifice that everything we need will be granted to us unasked. See, that is where I come from, I believe if I give according to the will of the Lord I will get what I need unasked! This was an amazing post! Shelly {The first thing that came to mind was to ask for the migraines to go away but that seems so selfish! I doubt I could ever bring myself to ask for I am pleased with the way He has directed my life! It is never about material things, although I have far too much, but the seeking of the Kingdom for me! There is nothing on this earth that would be worth the sacrifice of losing the eternal! So sacrifice and do the will of the Lord, which is not all that different than what you are saying because we all seek to be one with the Creator. It is just a different method to reaching the same goal!}

I am now understanding that the teachings therein, so profound, are made convoluted by so many authors that clarity is probably lost, and one thinks of getting rid of the book. Ironical, isn't it? Thank you for the read and I loved the Hare Krishna video you gave many days age. Flower

I wish I hadn't got rid of the copy I had for so long. I bought it in the Philippines many years ago. The teachings in it apply to everyday life.Flower

Re: Wow this is so beautiful and profound, Thank you so much for enlightening
Tzippy, I am happy that I could contribute something in understanding and in appreciation of the verse. There are so many layers  after layers of meaning that one might go on reading, meditating on the sense, yet it never stales. And oh, I am humbled by your appreciation. Thank you so much. Queries from my friends invariably gives me new insights. BTW, I think you must keep the book and look out for all that is not clear and disturbs the mind. Disturbance can also be turned into learning. And, did you know I bought this book first and read, did not understand, then read  many different authors. The one that appealed me most was by Sri Aurobindo "The message of the Gita", the language is too difficult to follow, and now I am writing my own version. Thank you ever so much.
