- Go to My Box of Ooglies
Poetic-
I'm glad you understand what my box of ooglies really is now. I never want anyone to ever think I would intentionally kill any living thing (except roaches, mosquitos, and fleas...sorry, their just useless and disgusting) nor would I ever purposely allow the killing of species against species for purposes of keeping them as tokens to my Oogly Box. I have, however, fed my Black Widow, Esmirelda live insects. Hey, she had to eat, ya know? But I'm glad you understand now and I'm also glad you see my point toward Unicorn (Pastor B) I just couldn't help myself from venting. I felt better after I did.

Poetic,
My Box of Ooglies (which was not named that by me, but by my friends) is a box of stuff I have collected thoughout the years. It contains bugs, yes, but insects that were "given" to me as Offerings. What is an Offering? It is a sign or acknowledgement from the Goddess (God) and/or other Powers that Be" which tells me my healing ritual, spells, prayer or whatever magick I have performed has been heard. It always seems to happen within 24 to 72 hours after it has been performed and not all witches have this happen. I just happen to be one that it does happen to, yet, I have never asked for any "offering". It just started happening after I was officially accepted into the Craft in which I had studied since I was a young girl. Things are different for all witches; especially Trad Witches (like I am), Wiccans, Esoterics, Gardenian, Alexandrian, etc. Some receive offerings, some receive acknowledgement in dreams, some in other ways. Personally, I'd rather not receive my acknowledgements in the manner that I do, however, I don't have much choice in the matter.
As I said, my box also contains other things that others find strange, unusual, and icky. Fine, I can understand that, but it's my box and I don't ever force anyone to see it's contents. Only when they ask to....
Hope this clarifies it all for you. I don't want anyone thinking that I kill any living being for self-satisfying purposes or sacrifice. I dedicate my career life to save them, not kill or cause harm to them.

well im sorry but when u mention putting all different sorts of bugs in a box... it is very easy to assume they aren't alive and if they are, one of the other bugs eats it...
I really don't mean to be a jerk or anything.. Please clarify.. what exactly IS the box of ooglies?~?~?~?

Poetic,
You got it wrong. I don't need to rethink anything. Where did you get that I was
killing harmless insects?? (Oh, and you may not know anything about me, but my long time career is in veterinary medicine!) Do you know what an
offering is that is
received?? Maybe not. Um, I don't think I need to rethink anything, since I have been a practicing trad witch for many years. No direct offense to you, but maybe you need to either brush up on
your beliefs, or read a post correctly before you comment.
