In this area we have a resident population of those Canada Geese.
They're spectacular to look at, but they "foul the footpaths" in the park, leave their calling cards all over the campus of our local university (which has several lakes). People bring old bread crumbs to feed the Mallards and Wood Ducks, and these big bullies run them off and eat it all. Those in the photo are probably a couple, I believe they mate for life.
