We will never get rid of racism through legal procedures, but these things help those who are not racists to remember that we still have to keep fighting the effects of such. Good post.

We have improved immensely over the years, but we still have work to do. It would be nice if we had never needed Civil Rights legislation, but the way our nation was necessitated it. I don't think it should ever be changed. People would be apt to forget quickly.

That is a very good question... I personally believe that as long as we feel the need to revise a treaty against racism we are in a way conceeding there is racism to be dealt with . I pray for the day when we do not need a piece of paper to tell us we are all the same. Great post D :-) xoxoxo

We are in this world together and for the life of me I will never understand racism! We all have feelings and desires that are fundamental to every human being!! It is just wrong to be racist!

I loved Archie Bunker!! Not because he was a racist, but his ignorance was funny. And yes, there will always be those types of ignorant people.

It's a hot topic in some areas over here - but the B NP (British National Party - very racist and focusing on people's anxieties about our high level of immigration) didn't win a single seat at the recent general election, thank goodness.
