Re: Re: Re: Take it easy
I can understand your concerns. he does have options, even though they are not the ideal ones that you wish for. He sounds like he is already a Leader, this new generation will be getting all the mistakes that the past two generations have made. Is he interested in politics? Community colleges aren't that bad. Some are cheaper actually to attend. Maybe he can work on both his GED and his studies? I am sure you thought of this. Maybe over some tea you can discuss what he is in search of, his dreams and what he wants to do with the rest of his life. Good luck to both of you! :))

Re: Re: Take it easy

I am certain he will achieve great things someday, for he is a young man of conviction.  For the same reason, he makes not entirely practical decisions, like dropping out of his high school with an "A" average because he objected to their educational approach.  I do too, but I tried to get him to see that his options expand with college.  He has been going to a "free school" ("democratic school") and basically pursuing his independent studies, has not gotten into any of the colleges he applied to -- due in no small part that they don't issue a diploma and he has to get a GED after his graduation -- except for a community college near the art school his wife (not under "law") is going to in San Francisco.

So, you see why I worry.

Re: Very moving
I didn't leave anything out right? <smile> I will probably be in tears too when he graduates from college. He is going to Florida State on a football scholarship! :))

Take it easy

He'll be just fine.

Now, my oldest son, that's another matter...
