Too many pitchers go for strikeouts instead of utilizing their defense

jeff, right, but 'pitch to contact' is the strategy of allowing the defense to control the game; they have pitches and pitchers who force hitters to hit on the ground or pop up, as opposed to trying to overpower hitters. not that many great pitchers out there, and overpowering destroys the great pitchers they have. jmo
