When my son lived in Seol, Korea, it was always a little confusing. We had to be careful when we called him. I think they are 14 hours ahead of us here in Oregon. I can relate to how it is for you with the time change and different hours. I have been so busy, (not really) , but not reading the paper, T.V. or doing internet much that I don't really know what's going on in the world lately. I did see some news on the China earthquake when I was cleaning last Saturday. It looked really bad!  I am way behind in reading your posts, but will try to "catch up" if I can. God bless you.

Beautiful picture Kabu - and yes, there is a great deal of tragedies going on Universally - I think sometimes we are a spoiled country...I try to imagine being in their shoes and you know what, I don't stay in that moment too long because I CANNOT imagine.  Good blog here - Elyse loves ya' ~ xoxox

I shall picture you eating those worms. But you're right, it is irritating trying to work out time zones and then finding you somehow can't do business across them anyway.

It does help to put things in perspective sometimes.
But I think the world is touchier and people are more volatile and less grounded than they seemed not so long ago.

Such tragedies do put things into perspective. The BL accidentally
crawled into the dryer and got locked in. Now all my white clothes have teef mark in them,

Another
earthquake in China is disturbing.  I know about the time difference.  I have to re-figure alot due to day light savings... I was very perturbed by a 2 AM call from Washington DC once having to do with my children's social security numbers, the lady hadn't a clue!  a State Department worker  Hmph!  Lets have some awareness here!

recipe for Fried Worms:

Ingredients:
  • Fresh dug worms, any size - ALIVE
  • Salt
  • Pepper
  • Garlic
  • Butter
How to Prepare:
Judy Blume wasn't kidding, these are good. Heat up you frying pan, add a tsp of butter. When pan reaches correct temp, add the live worms, stir fry and add your spices. Worms are done when they stop moving and cooked thruout.

That last paragraph sounds like a good plan (except for the worms).  I know they are edible, but don't you have to boil them first and then dry them out before you can chop them up into cookies and cassaroles?  Sounds like a lot of trouble to me.

There was also an earth quake in Spain this last week. None of these things are man made and I can accept that even with loss of life. God has already dealt with those lives. It is much more peaceful to be in heaven than to be covered under a pile of rubble. If they never heard of Jesus, they are with him. I am not saying there is not pain, loss but I am saying God can handle those things we cannot. You be blessed I am sorry there is so much junky confusion going on around you. Look on line for a time converter calendar and see if that works. I love you.

Sigh...yes, I know exactly how you feel, dear Grandmummy.  I still to this day have trouble with the time differences between here and the UK.  Never know what time to ring Juliet in London or my friend Jim in North Lancashire, Scotland...
