It is a shame when it comes to voting for the one you think will cause the least amount of damage

I like your political commentary style, even if I don't agree with every
word of it.

Friend
You have written nothing yet that makes me believe you know any more than you did the last election where you jumped fence and voted so wrong. If you are trying to put someone in office you are on the wrong side for your actions, if you are not then stay to the subject you think you know more about...Obama... He is your man tell us what all the good things are that he has given us.

These internal debates between my American dear friends is amazing
to me. Australia ia so laid back.........we did get a Government sacked way back in the 1970's for drawing us too quickly and too far left. It is now folk law. But nobody takes it all too serious. If you have been in power too long ...they will kick you out....if you upset 'em they will kick you out.....if you don't look after your constituents they wil lkick you out.Voting is compulsory so it pays to work hard for your folks back home and not get too big for your boots. Australians don't like anyone who thinks they are better than the next Bloke or Sheila.

Yes!
And no. The American electorate -- a body for which I swore I would never speak because I hate it when Republicans presume to speak for it -- follows the leader right off the cliff -- as we saw with Bush II. No, we won't have a reversal against the President's leadership.

Re:
ROTFL...you're joking Right?  Take off the blinders....The O-man is now at his lowest point, in spite of passing his blueprint for socialized medicine and hitting the road on his never-ending campaign trail ......meanwhile the 2nd American Revolution is moving full speed ahead.....look at the increasing number of Progressive leftists dropping out (the latest rumor is that Bwarney Fwank is going to retire).  Stupid Stupak...he reads the internal polls and heeeeeee's outa here!

As to the SRLC strawman vote.....75% didn't vote for Romney...The idiot from Texas, Paul, paid for his votes, which showed up on the last day of the meeting.  Only 50% of the total delegates voted at all.   The SRLC was focused on the coming takeover of the Congress...which you heard very little about because the press and people like yourself preferred to continue to focus on promoting Sarah as an uneducated ignorant half-termed quitter Governor from an unimportant backwater state. Why waste such valuable vitriol on such a nobody?  Since Romney is a shoo-in, one would think he would be the target.

But wait....it's a primeval thing....one instinctively attacks that which  they fear the most.

"The enormity of it is that Obama now ranks with JFK, RFK, MLK, whom some have attributed Ghandi-like status to.
"

If Ghandi had a grave he'd be rolling over in it over that one......Jimmy Carter is more like it.....please, Kingmi,  step away from the Kool-aid!

Whatever the politics of the season in any land...

at the end of the day, I hope every eligible voter remembers that unless the outcome is good for most, if not all, people, it will not last.

Yes, Gandhi was a shrewd politician, but he never lost a grip of this fundamental principle, despite tough opposition from some.

Why is to so hard for some of us to get it? If despite all her problems, India can survive & prosper as a secular, peaceful democracy, surely America can..and I have every hope we will, just as soon as most of us grasp and never let go of this Divine principle.

Peace!

- Ash

FSI, That is the prevailing attitude among party elites, but they have not realized any bounce for having voted no on health.  So, today's mood is one of reserved caution, when it was expected to be a groundswell.  I think that is the problem of whipping the base into a frenzy using absurd exaggerations and outright lies.  Death squads?  Socia;ism?  It was fun while it lasted -- the year of debate -- but when the dems didn't cave for once, iy gave them the bounce.

The enormity of it is that Obama now ranks with JFK, RFK, MLK, whom some have attributed Ghandi-like status to.

These straw polls are fun, but I don't read too much into them, at least not this early. I remember reading an article in The Baltimore Sun today about one of the Republicans saying they need to worry about taking the country back in 2010 and not wait until 2012.
