Nautiko's comment rang a bell with me.  Since I came to this town (country) I haven't been to the local library, in fact I don't even know where it is.  Time for some research online and offline.

I feel sorry for her, not being able to enjoy her money, maybe treat herself to a meal out with a wonderful caring friend she knows.

I am reminded of the difference between a 'homey' place like yours, our own public library (which I don't visit often enough, but where I always enjoy the greetings and smiles of the ladies working there when I do ), and the university libraries where I also have privileges, but where people are often unfriendly and even viciously officious...

And I'm glad the two J's are hangin' in there...
