This happened to me so often I began taking my time unfolding etc. ...

This is good to know --- never considered all that - I know not to 'wad' up my bills but, truly thank you for this 'sage' advice. Elyse

Banks and cashiers are the only people who line up their bills,
unless they are obsessive-compulsives, to my way of thinking. This reminds me of "Rain Man". Hope you can take a joke!

Very good advice! I can't imagine anyone not wanting to keep their money organized! It should have at this that value to them! I keep my bills organized, too! sam

I learned this at age 16 working at a local hamburger place. I still organize my bills.

You know FSI, my grandma used to treat money like it's next to God. She keeps it in a safe place, is very careful with it, neatly folded and she has always told us that you have to respect it and you will be showered with it. I think you like it neat an tidy..

Re: lustorlove
I myself find it disjointing when while counting I encounter a bill facing a different direction. Sometimes I have to start over. For me there's also a cosmetic factor. Bills that face the same way can be put into the till, pocket, or wallet and be more unified. Some customers prefer to get their bills facing the same way.

I'm living my life virtually cashless. I just checked and found that I have two bills in my wallet, a fiver and a twenty, and they've been there for
ages! And they're facing towards one another, so they're not properly aligned. But they've been around for so long, they've become friends, and I would hate to part with them. To pay for stuff, I use my debit card or my credit card...
